Lisa Vanderpump closing her beloved LA restaurant Pump for good

After a decade of operating, Lisa Vanderpump’s iconic Pump Restaurant Lounge will be closing its doors on July 5th due to the expiration of their lease. The news was confirmed by Pandora Todd, Vanderpump’s daughter. She cited a steep increase in rent as the reason for the shutdown, noting that it would be too expensive to commit to another ten-year lease.

Despite recent speculation of trouble at the restaurant following the suspension of its general eating license and event permits, Vanderpump denied any rumors of a permanent shutdown. She explained that the lease expiration was the core issue and that the family had not yet decided whether to stay at the location.

To give the restaurant a proper send-off, Pump will remain open throughout Pride month in West Hollywood, with the family hosting a “last hurrah” to thank their staff and patrons. Vanderpump and her husband Ken Todd own several other restaurants, including TomTom and SUR, and they plan to open at least two more restaurants in partnership with Caesars Entertainment in the coming year.

Meanwhile, the couple’s Bravo series, Vanderpump Rules, which centers on the lives of their restaurant staff, has been embroiled in controversy following the news of Tom Sandoval’s affair with fellow cast member Raquel Leviss. The scandal led to the new restaurant, Schwartz & Sandy’s, receiving a wave of negative Yelp reviews and social media comments. However, Vanderpump has asked viewers not to take their frustrations out on the businesses, emphasizing the importance of separating the cast’s actions from the individuals themselves.
