Step 1: Selection of Organic Fruits

To prepare this fertilizer, make sure to use untreated organic fruits. It is essential that the peels do not contain any chemicals or pesticides.

Step 2: Collection of Peels

Start by collecting the citrus peels and keep them in a bag. Wait until you have accumulated a significant amount, but do not store them for more than a few days.

Step 3: Drying the Peels

Once you have enough peels, move on to the drying phase. You have two options: air-drying by exposing them to direct sunlight or baking them in the oven. If you choose the oven, place the peels on a baking sheet and bake them at 100°C for 4 to 6 hours. Keep the oven door slightly open to let out the steam. Use a wooden spoon to prop it open.

TIP: Energy Saving

To minimize energy consumption, dry as many peels as possible together, reducing the frequency of the process.

Step 4: Grinding the Peels

Once the peels are thoroughly dried, use an electric blender or a mortar to grind them into a powder. Pass this powder through a sieve to remove poorly ground pieces. Grind them again into a fine powder.

Step 5: Fertilizer Storage

Transfer the obtained powder into an airtight glass container. You can now use this powder as fertilizer for your plants or for newly planted seeds.
