She performed 12 songs, including “Where Have You Been,” “Only Girl (In The World),” “We Found Love,” “Rude Boy,” “Work,” “Wild Thoughts,” and “Pour It Up.”
Rihanna’s performance also included some controversial song choices, including an excerpt of her verse from Kanye West’s “All Of The Lights” and a part of Jay-Z’s “Run This Town,” both of which originally featured West. West has been embroiled in numerous controversies, including anti-Semitic comments and praise for Adolf Hitler. The singer concluded her performance with “Umbrella” and “Diamonds.”
Despite eschewing the pyrotechnics of recent Super Bowl halftime shows, Rihanna’s fans were thrilled to see her without any added theatrics. The singer has not released a solo album since January 2016, with her only solo music in the last seven years being “Lift Me Up,” a tribute to the late actor Chadwick Boseman, which earned her an Academy Award nomination.
